Alliance Training and Testing provides Tennessee's most comprehensive security guard license training. Our curriculum will equip you with all the necessary skills for a successful career as a security guard. SPECIFIC EXAMPLES

ONLINE TRAINING: Alliance Training and Testing's online training is 100% self-paced, so you can learn at start and stop the course from anywhere you can access an internet connection. This is an excellent option for people with busy schedules or who live in rural areas. Many of our successful graduates have completed the entire course on a mobile phone.

CLASSROOM TRAINING: Alliance Training and Testing also offers classroom training for people who prefer to learn in a traditional setting. The classroom courses are held at a convenient location in Nashville, Tennessee.

HYBRID TRAINING: Alliance Training and Testing also offers hybrid training, combining online and classroom training. This option is a good compromise for people who want to save time on the armed course by completing the unarmed portion online.

CONVENIENT & AFFORDABLE: Alliance Training and Testing's training fees are reasonable, and we offer discounts for in-classroom groups and online course bundles.

STATE APPROVED ACCREDITED INSTRUCTORS AND TRAINING CURRICULUM: Alliance Training and Testing is a state-approved training provider for security guard licenses in Tennessee. This means that the training you receive will meet the Tennessee Private Protective Services Board requirements for security guard registration cards. Alliance Training and Testing's instructors are all certified by the Tennessee Private Protective Services Board. This means we have the knowledge and skills to teach you the material to pass the security guard licensing exam.

OUR HISTORY

We Began

2012

IN March 2012, I established Alliance Training and Testing to address the dissatisfaction my two mentors had with the only security trainer in Nashville. From 2012 to 2014, I concentrated on honing my presentation skills and growing the company. Initially, our services included training for Unarmed Security Licenses for TN, Criminal Background checks, and Fingerprinting Services.

Building A Team

2014

IN 2014, I partnered with Warren Smith to offer Armed Security License Training, Upgrade Training, and Renewal Training. By 2015, we became the most popular trainers in Tennessee.

Range Partnership

2017

IN 2017, Warren and I collaborated with Royal Range USA. This state-of-the-art training facility provides three modern indoor shooting ranges: a 15-yard Pistol Bay, a 20-yard Tactical Bay, and a 57-yard Rifle Bay capable of handling up to 50 BMG. The ranges are equipped with independent ventilation and a multi-stage filtration system to ensure the health and comfort of shooters. Additionally, the facility offers the largest indoor scenario area available to the private sector, a multi-level, 15,000-square-foot Scenario House. 

Expanding The Team

2018

IN 2018, Bo Smith retired from Metro Nashville PD and joined our team. In 2019 and 2020, we were honored to be voted the Best Trade School in Nashville.

Online Launch

2020

IN September 2020, we launched the first 100% Online Unarmed Security Officer Guard Card License Training Course for Tennessee.

Dallas Law Launch

2022

IN November 2022, we launched the first 100% online Dallas Law Certification Training Course for Tennessee security guards working in establishments serving alcohol. This training was created in response to the death of Dallas "DJ" Barrett in 2021. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed the "Dallas Law" bill on June 1, 2022. The Dallas Law is new legislation that will take full effect on January 1, 2023.

Renewal Launch

2023

IN February 2023, we launched the first 100% online Unarmed Security Officer Guard Card License 2-Hour Renewal Course for Tennessee.

Angel Rodriguez Owner of Alliance Training and Testing

Angel Rodriguez CPP

Owner

Angel has over 30 years of experience in security and military operations, including contract security, proprietary security, corporate security, and facility management. He began his career in the United States Army as an Infantryman and served in the Gulf War with the 101st Airborne Division in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, where he was honored with the Bronze Star. Angel is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and holds the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation, recognized internationally as the top professional certification for security practitioners. He is also certified as a facility management professional, physical security professional, and protection officer, and he is FEMA-certified in emergency management. In addition, Angel is a Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED instructor and is a Tennessee licensed security officer trainer. He has served on the State of Tennessee Private Protective Services Committee and played a crucial role in developing the (4) Hour General Training Curriculum and Dallas Law Classification Curriculum.

Firearms Instructor

Warren began his career in training with the United States Marine Corps. He spent two years at the Enlisted Instructor Company in Quantico, Virginia, teaching weapons and tactics to 2nd Lieutenants. Following this, he served in Vietnam for 13 months. Upon his discharge in 1969, he joined the Tennessee Highway Patrol Recruit Academy and successfully graduated in September 1971. His final assignment with the THP was in the Training Division, where he instructed and provided in-service training for Troopers across the state. After retiring from the Highway Patrol, he was senior vice president of corporate security at Bank of America, where he had national responsibilities. Warren is passionate about teaching and values the enduring friendships he forms with his students. He is married with two daughters and one son and is the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, all residing in middle Tennessee.

Firearms Instructor

A Nashville native and a 25-year veteran of the Metro Nashville Police Department, Bo Smith is a weapons and tactics instructor. His passion for firearms began at a young age, influenced by his father, who was a firearms instructor with the Marine Corps and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Bo served 13 years in the patrol division and 12 years as a school resource officer before retiring in 2020. He holds several certifications, including state-certified armed/unarmed security guard trainer, state-certified handgun carry permit instructor, state of Tennessee POST-certified LEOSA instructor, and NRA Range Safety Officer. Bo and his wife have three children and four grandchildren. During his free time, he enjoys hunting and fishing.
